Getting ready for your first tango lesson
Argentine tango is one of the most beautiful, elegant, and sensual dances of modern times.
It is also considered one of the most complex couple dances. This is the reason why it can feel daunting to approach it. First times can by scary; but we have some tips - and some myths to debunk - for you!

LAUGH IT OFF & COLLABORATIVE APPROACH |
|
If you make a mistake (no one’s perfect!), laugh it off. If you trip up (unfortunately, our feet have a mind of their own it appears), laugh it off.
But most importantly, it is fundamental to have a caring and collaborative approach towards your partner. Both of you are trying your best to make it work. Relaxation and accepting mistakes as a part of the learning process will make everything more enjoyable! |

NO ONE IS BORN A DANCER |

If you could dance tango on your first attempt, it wouldn't make it quite ‘special’, would it? ;)
That is why our dearest recommendation is: enjoy the journey!
Tango is a vast body of movement knowledge.... And that is its beauty. Do not get scared if you feel you cannot understand everything immediately. The joy of learning and overcoming the challenges that you will find along the way are some of the greatest pleasure the learning path of tango will give you.
Do I Need a Partner? You don't necessarily need a partner to start learning to dance tango. In our experience, more people come without a partner than with.

TANGO IS EVERYONE'S
Tango is a popular dance, born in the popular neighborhoods of Buenos Aires and this is why we strongly believe it belongs to everyone. Age, gender, previous dance experience, fitness level, culture or ethnic background, everything becomes irrelevant when talking about tango.
And for us...Tango is poetry, community, healthy addiction, unpredictability and surprise, passion, authenticity, mindfulness…in other words: life at its best. Forget about the stereotype that pretends that men lead and women follow. Tango is a two-way dialogue. For us, there is no leading or following in tango. There is only listening to the other... It is about a physical, emotional and spiritual encounter between two people who share a language that does not need words. Read more about what is tango for us and our pedagogical approach here |
